Learning from mistakes and learning "right" lessons from mistakes
Often you must be coming across this question " Why it happens to me? " Every time you experience something and say it won't happen next time, but what happens. Same story repeats ..uhh !
This is because every time you experience some thing not good, you think over it and decide that I won't make this mistake again and you come up with new ways of doing things. Here's where your real test comes. If you don't hit the right point you are in the same loop again :-( . To find the mistake you should start at the root of the problem. Most of the times we find the temporary solution/correction to our problems/mistakes.
Be true to yourself while learning from mistakes. It may happen you will not be happy with the decision because you are not getting what you want (here i would term it as temporary desires). But all this is necessary if you dont want to repeat the same mistakes.
Most of the times we waste our time in correcting the mistake we have done and ignore the new mistakes which are going to make.
Not only should we try to correct the mistake we have done but also learn things that will make us aware not to make mistakes with new people at new places at some other time. This is where most of the people forget. Whenever people come in new company or come close to someone new, they forget and repeat same mistakes.
One positive thing I would like to add, sometimes you learn which may not useful in avoiding the mistake from which you learnt, but you learn something useful.
Here is the excerpt from the Big Wisdom (The Little Book) which I liked and thought I should it put it here to give more meaning to the above content.
It's title is Autobiography in Five Chapters
Chapter One
I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost...I am hopeless. It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out.
Chapter Two
I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don't see it. I fall in again. I can't believe I'm in the same place. But it isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out.
Chapter Three
I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it is there. I still fall in...it's a habit. My eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately.
Chapter Four
I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.
